Nestled within a sloped site in a well-vegetated neighborhood, the Shady Trail Residence brings a unique perspective to semi-country living. The building is composed of simple geometric forms with gently sloped roofs mimicking the topography of the land and the surrounding area, while still providing a contrast to its organic surroundings. Built from exposed insulated concrete units, the design establishes a sense of strength, being anchored into the hillside, while expressing areas of gentleness with accents of painted siding to create a sculpturally bold structure.
